Oh my goodness. Huge accomplishment! I took blog photos before the sun went down today. (Just barely.) And by “I,” I mean my fabulous hubby. Thanks, Michael. (Mitch’s real name is “Michael.” Shocking, right? ;))
So I’ve been getting quite a few questions about why I haven’t been wearing a coat these past few days. (Adorbs. Thank you for the concern!) You’re totally right–New York City has been frigid as of late. But don’t worry. I’m the biggest wimp in the world, and I literally do not go a day without my puffer coat from November until April. (Yes, April.) For blog photos, I throw my coat off for a hot two minutes (sometimes less!), yelp a little, smile for the photos, and then it goes right back on. (It’s really not that bad.)

I own two other coats–the J.Crew Double-Cloth Lady Day Coat (in hot pink from last year) and the J.Crew Factory Skirted Dress Coat (in purple from a few years ago). I am obsessed with these coats. But I never wear them. They’re simply not warm enough for me. I think they’d be great if I lived in an area in which driving was my primary mode of transportation, but walking NYC’s streets in the blistering cold in a wool coat? HA. So not happening. But again, I’m a huge wimp. ;) I’m not a huge fan of my North Face as I don’t think it’s the most stylish coat out there, but it’s the only coat I’ve found that comes close to keeping me warm. I recently tried J.Crew Factory’s puffer coat, and it sadly didn’t do the trick. Anyone own the J.Crew version? I’m so curious whether it compares with my N.F. (Warmest coat ever. So excited that tomorrow is Friday! Short weeks are the best. After school tomorrow, Mitch and I are headed to the Upper East Side to have dinner with my parents, grandmother, two aunts and two uncles. I adore my family, and I’m so excited to see everyone!
