San Diego Trip Agenda

San Diego Trip Agenda

Photo by our friend and bride-to-be, Gabby Emig. Congrats, Gabby and Brian! We love you!

Mitch here!

Would you look at us?! We planned a weeklong, no-kids, extended family trip to San Diego for a friend’s wedding, and I couldn’t be more excited. So today I’m using this post as an excuse to jot down all the stuff I want to do in Southern California while we’re here. If you have any recommendations or if you see anything totally off in this guide, please let me know!

What I Wore, 9/24

Leopard Slip Skirt outfit | What I Wore 9/24

Leather Tote / Gorjana Coin Necklace and Bespoke Bracelet (Gorjana recently arrived on Armitage in Lincoln Park!) / Leopard Slip Skirts Here, Here and Here (Solid here and here.) / 365 T-Shirt (Favorite t-shirt of all time!) / Similar Sandals / Sunglasses

I’m happy I’m doing these posts again. First, it makes me put a little more effort into my outfits every day. Second, I think it’s a good representation of who I am. I am a casual being. Or I am at this stage in my life! Before kids, I’d get dressed up on the reg. Now, though, I’m in jeans way more often than I’m not—and I’m unreasonably proud of myself when I put on a skirt or dress. Heck, I document it. 😆

Little Girls’ Dachshund Dresses / Straw Bags / Sandals / Noodle’s Leash / Lucy’s Clip / Similar Sunglasses

A friend from the gym—who I met through Blair, actually!—had her girls in these dachshund dresses a month or two ago, and you know I was like, “Where. Did. You. Get. These.” 🙈

10 Things, 9/20

Kelly in the City Kitchen | 10 Things 9/20

Cabinet Paint Color: Benjamin Moore Dove Wing / Ballard Designs Dayna Chairs / Wooden Bowl / Artificial Pears That Everyone Keeps Biting / Pillows (Here are the green checked ones, and here are the similar white ones that we have in the living room!) / Brass Clock / Faux Marble Table: The original inspiration was this one from Crate & Barrel, but we went with faux marble since we have young children. (Slightly different design.) / Old Broyhill Whale (Wayfair has lots of options, though.) / Floor Stain: Minwax Antique Brown

Hello! Here are the first 10-ish things that come to mind this morning:

The Prettiest Wool Coat

Absolutely in LOVE with this coat! It’s made out of Italian Stadium Cloth Wool, which is crazy warm. (The only wool coat I can actually wear during Chicago winters is made out of the same material!)

Oh, hello there! Life got a little crazy with the kids, but I’m here. 🙋🏼‍♀️

Mitch, Please: 10 Things, 9/9

Above Normal Eggs farm | Mitch Please: 10 Things 9/9

Mitch here!

This is a picture I took at Above Normal Eggs while I was literally farming. Well, I was standing there while my dad was farming.

Full disclosure: I wasn’t doing anything helpful and spent most of my time taking pictures of the sunset and getting in the way. But I was on a farm and that counts for something!

What I Wore, 9/7

Black Shirt Dress | What I Wore 9/7

I’m bringing back the “What I Wore” series! I know. I’ve said this before. 😜 You can call me out on it.

Like so many others, I find myself grabbing the same things every morning. And very often—as evidenced by the photos in this post—I end up in my workout clothing. (As much as I love it, I want to be in “real” clothing because it really helps with productivity. It also makes me feel good! Like a human, if you will.) So I suppose I’m doing this because I need the motivation. ;)

Let’s begin! Here are a few outfits I’ve worn recently:

Fresh From the Field: Sweet Corn with Mitch

Farm-Fresh Sweet Corn Recipe

Mitch here!

It’s still corn season in Illinois. And I know what you’re thinking: Isn’t every season corn season in Illinois? Okay, yes. There’s a kernel of truth to your question, but gather in a row and lend me an ear because shucks, I’m about to cob together a corny blog post that will simply a-maize.
