I had a delightful little week over here in Chicago. I ventured up to the Wayfair store in Wilmette again, but this time to peruse the holiday selection. It was so fun! I’ll be honest and say that Christmas has been the furthest thing from my mind these days, but the store really did get me into the spirit. I came home with a bunch of seasonal goodies—mostly decor for our powder room glow-up project—and had a blast setting them up and making our home feel cozy.

Btw: Right now, Wayfair is having its Black Friday Sneak Peek event, when you can take up to 70 percent off the store and website—and get fast shipping. Same deals that you’ll see on actual Black Friday without waking up early or products selling out. ;)

The before

Anyway, I made my second round of updates to the powder room before decorating, which you can read about here. I, short, I lightly sanded and then painted the vanity with leftover paint from our mudroom makeover. (BM “October Mist,” which you guys told me to use. Thank you!) I also painted the trim in F & B “Shaded White.” I then installed this beautiful (and wonderfully affordable) wallpaper and made a few other small changes. It took the space from dated to updated!

You can come along with me on my Wayfair holiday shopping trip in my Instagram Stories today… and here’s everything I scored to deck out the powder room for the holidays:

Faux wreath: I saw this in the store and thought it looked perfect for the bathroom mirror. I loved that it came with a twine loop attached to it that slipped over the top of the mirror. So easy!

Wayfair Basics matted frames: Okay, this is one of my best finds of the year. Guys, they’re matted. They look so stunning—like you had art professionally framed! I’m in love. I had zero seasonal art hanging around so I painted a quick tree, Bob Ross-style. (Please note that Mitch has our TV set to automatically play Bob Ross when someone turns it on, so we’re all about happy little trees over here.)

Also, I definitely need to mention that you should check out Wayfair Basics! It’s where I got the frames from, and the collection really does have everything.

Ceramic tree: Speaking of trees, how about this guy?! He was a last-minute addition to my shopping cart but might be my favorite purchase of all. The perfect size for the vanity countertop. And because of its small size, it’ll definitely store in the cabinet below. (I love storing seasonal decor in the rooms themselves as it makes decorating so much easier!)

Scalloped towels: These are adorable, and go so well with the #cottagecore vibe I’ve been going for in the powder room. And what a great deal! They come in blue, too.

Chunky throw: Clearly this is not going in the powder room. 😂 But when I saw it, I knew the girls—and Noodle—would go nuts over it, and I was right. They squealed when I brought it home, and Noodle promptly made a little nest for herself in it the following day. Huge hit with the Larkin Ladies!
