Last-Minute Easter Basket Fillers for Girls on Amazon

6-Minute Diary / Bunny Slippers / Writing Tablet / Initial Pouch / Botanical Press / Flower Sunglasses / Karaoke Machine / Angel Doll / Stick-On Earrings / Beauty Tools / Water Bottle / Beach Toys

GUYS. Who decided Easter was going to be in March this year?! (It’s fine, I’m fine, but also… seriously, WHO.) I know I’m not the only mom who feels this way, so here’s a look at my frantic 😅 Amazon searches recently. You can still get all of this in time for Sunday!

6-Minute Diary: Supporting our kids’ emotional wellbeing is so important, and this resource looks INCREDIBLE—I might just get one for Emma. I think it would facilitate some great conversations, or at the very least promote healthy self-reflection.

Bunny Slippers: I mean… For Easter? I had to. Do they make these in adult sizes? (JK. Kind of.)

Writing Tablet: I love this. It’s a screen without being screen time and lets them make art without a ton of paper markers scattered everywhere.

Initial Pouch: I’d put the girls’ Easter candy in this! And then later they could use them to organize all the little trinkets they accumulate. (Because they do, somehow, always accumulate.)

Botanical Press: Okay, so we live in a city, which means nature is a little harder to come by here than in other places. If you don’t though, PLEASE get this and let us live vicariously through you. So many crafting possibilities!

Flower Sunglasses: This is our kind of nature. 😂 But really, these are too fun and they come in a zillion colors.

Karaoke Machine: I think we’re all well-acquainted with Lucy’s passion for karaoke by now, haha, and I have to say, it’s entertaining for *everyone.* Do I sometimes end up in hiding to get away from the noise? Sure, but no regrets.

Angel Doll: This is just SO cute. The doll is whimsical but neutral, so of course it’s right up my alley. 🤣

Stick-On Earrings: Do these make you feel nostalgic, or do these make you feel nostalgic?! I mean, they’re from CLAIRE’S. I can’t think of a single little girl (ahem, Lucy) who wouldn’t be obsessed.

Beauty Tools: I’m a big believer in imaginative play, and this set immediately caught my eye. The price is great, and all the pieces are adorable!

Water Bottle: I know there are a lot more fancy water bottles out there, but these. are. INDESTRUCTIBLE. So great to have on hand.

Beach Toys: Are these not some of the most attractive beach toys you’ve ever seen?! They come in a few other aesthetically pleasing colors and the included bag is a nice bonus.

Amazon Big Spring Sale 2024

Cricut Joy / Cricut Joy Xtra / Solo Stove / Stasher Reusable Bags / Weber Grill / CAROTE Pots & Pans / Tennis Dress / Steam Mop / T3 Micro Hair Dryer / Glass Canisters

Is it just me or have there been SO many incredible sales lately?! Yesterday I found out that Amazon is having their first-ever Big Spring Sale now until March 25, and I have to say, I’m impressed. You can shop up to 50% off a ton of really great stuff, like the Cricut Joy Xtra, Stasher Reusable Bags, and the Solo Stove. It’s basically Prime Day all over again!

Cricut Joy: You guys, the Cricut is 34% off! If you’ve been wanting to try it, NOW’S THE TIME. This is a great starter if you’re not sure you’re going to love it (spoiler alert: YOU WILL), or if you’re on a budget and only plan to do small projects…

Cricut Joy Xtra: THAT SAID, if you can afford to choose between the two, go for the Xtra. The cutting area is 3 inches wider, which doesn’t sound like a lot, but it makes a big difference.

Solo Stove: Another REALLY great deal—our Solo Stove is $75 off! We bought one during the pandemic (read Mitch’s full review here) and let me tell you, we are ALL IN on this thing. It takes real wood but doesn’t get all smokey, which is a game. changer. Oh, and did I mention it’s portable?!

Stasher Reusable Bags: We switched from plastic baggies to these silicone bags a couple years ago and never looked back. I love using them for snacks and they’re also freezer, oven, microwave, and dishwasher safe. They’re an investment, but totally worth it, especially on sale!

Weber Grill: Once upon a time, before our outdoor kitchen was installed, Mitch had this grill on his wishlist. It has great reviews, is over $100 off, and has three burners.

CAROTE Pots & Pans: Can you believe this deal?! 40% off and it was already a STEAL. These would be so great for a first apartment.

Tennis Dress: The famous scalloped tennis dress that comes in seven million (okay, eight) colors! It was already a steal, and now it’s 23% off. If you’ve had your eye on it, this is your sign to go for it!

Steam Mop: I swear by my steam mop, and even though this isn’t the one I use, it is 41% off—and the reviews are fantastic!

T3 Micro Hair Dryer: I’m such a fan of T3 hair tools, including this incredible hair dryer that’s 33% off. Plus, it’s compact, so you travel with it!

Glass Canisters: Oh my gosh, do I LOVE a canister. I have them all over the house. (Marie Kondo, PLEASE HIRE ME.) These are simple, attractive, and perfect for your pantry!

Tuckernuck Spring Staples

Vesty Long Sleeve Crewneck / Finn Popover / Park Slope Turtleneck (Full review here!) / Nylon Tote Bag / Snaffle Belt / Easton Suede Top (Full review here!)/ Catherine Denim Midi / Ashford Pants / Frenchie Knit Dress / Lantern Earrings / Alibi Sandals / Olivia Rib Knit Polo / Kenzo Dress (Full review here!)

If I could only shop from one store for the rest of my life, it’d probably be Tuckernuck—they seriously have it ALL. Even though spring in Chicago is only kind of spring (IYKYK), the rest of you are probably soaking up your gloriously, permanently warm weather as I type. So, I thought it was time to share some Tuckernuck spring staples! I couldn’t limit myself to just a collage though—can you blame me?!—so there’s a bunch more at the bottom too.

Vesty Long Sleeve Crewneck: The medium weight is perfect for a Chicago spring and I love how the puff sleeve gives the illusion that you’re more dressed up than you actually are. 😂

Finn Popover: Another striped top, because hey! I like what I like. You could wear this to the office, a PTA meeting—the possibilities are endless and I am here. for. it.

Park Slope Turtleneck: Oh my gosh, I love this thing so much. It’s machine-washable, better with every wash, lightweight but still cozy… Get the bigger of your two sizes!

Nylon Tote Bag: I am a big fan of totes, and this is a good one. The nylon is pretty much child-proof (wipeable!) and I’m all for a structured bottom that keeps your stuff neat. Plus, it comes in three different sizes – options!

Snaffle Belt: Is this the perfect belt?! I think it’s seriously possible. I love that you can wear it around your waist or your hips. 100% leather, a rich brown (or black!), and a little bit equestrian.

Easton Suede Top: This is one of my all-time favorite tops and I wear it a lot. Maybe too much?! JK, that’s not possible. It’s super soft AND super pretty.

Catherine Denim Midi: Is this the classiest denim dress you’ve ever seen or what?! (Don’t say what. 🤣) The reviews say that it’s actually chambray, which makes it softer and lighter than your jeans.

Ashford Pants: I don’t own these, but I feel like I should shop my own link and get them?! The high rise and cropped kick hem are too good, and the buttonless front makes the pants look even more elevated.

Frenchie Knit Dress: Everyone knows how sensitive I can be about knits, but this dress is 100% cotton, so NO ITCH! It’s the kind of dress you can wear over and over again, basically forever.

Lantern Earrings: These are pretty much the only statement earrings I need. The raffia adds texture to every outfit, plus they’re super lightweight.

Alibi Sandals: I can’t think of a single person who doesn’t loooove these. Way more comfy than the Hermes version! And obviously way, WAY more affordable.

Olivia Rib Knit Polo: Preppy, but make it fashion, right?! This knit is not 100% cotton but the review say it’s still drapey and soft, so it’s still worth trying!

Kenzo Dress: As an (aspiring) minimalist, I hope you know what an endorsement owning FOUR different versions of this dress is. It’s forgiving, feminine, and everything else you could hope for in a great dress.

LTK Spring Sale 2024

Abercrombie LTK Spring Sale 2024

Hi, guys! Today is the first day of the LTK Spring Sale, and if you don’t know what that is, buckle up. I’m here to tell you alllllll about it.

Before anything else, you should know what LTK is: Formally referred to as LikeToKnow. It, it’s the linking technology I and most other influencers use to share our favorite finds with you! When you shop from my LTK affiliate links, I receive a small commission at no cost to you.

Now, the LTK Spring Sale! From March 8-11, LTK is hosting exclusive sales from 11 brands—including two of my go-to’s: Abercrombie and Anthropologie. In order to take advantage of the sale, you have to download the LTK app from Google Play or the App Store and make an account. While I’d love it if you followed my account (@kellyinthecity), it’s not necessary. 😉

Ahead of the game for possibly the first time in my life 😜 I already have my picks curated for you (sneak peeks below!). You’ll notice in the app that collages featuring any of the 11 brands have a flag on them saying “LTK Exclusive Sale.” When you tap on one of the products, you’ll be able to see the discount details and copy the promo code. Then, click on whatever you’re eyeing and you’ll be taken to the site! Easy peasy.

If you’re reading this on mobile, you can click on the collages below for direct access to the app, where I’ll have notes about my picks for easy reference.

Abercrombie is a mecca for reasonably priced basics, including their denim and dresses.

We love shopping at Abercrombie Kids for Emma—Lucy is counting down the days until she can fit in their pieces too!

You guys already know how much I love Anthropologie! They have SO MUCH to choose from, it’s hard to pick favorites.

City Garage Renovation

Mitch here!

Like most, we’re always looking for ways to make our home more functional. And without question, the most underused—and disastrous—part of our home was long the garage. We’re not really car people so last year I found myself daydreaming about turning it into a multifunctional space— a garage, yes, but also a studio where I could spend time on woodworking; Kelly could refinish her Marketplace furniture finds; and the girls could craft, exercise and put on dancing/singing shows.
