This is an oldie, but I think it’s appropriate for today, as I’m so incredibly happy! Don’t get me wrong. I love my job. It’s incredibly rewarding, and it’s part of who I am. But it’s also exhausting. ;) That said, this teacher is officially on Spring Break-mode!
Mitch and I are off on a long, 14-hour drive from Hoboken to Illinois. We’ve taken this trip together a lot, so we’re pros. We know what’s needed in order to survive: lots of snacks, books on tape iPhone, and great music. We’re actually going to be listening to every single song that our wedding band plays, and then come up with a “playlist.” You know… must-play songs, songs we’re fine with, and do-not-play songs. (For Mitch, a do-not-play song is anything by the Black-Eyed Peas. No one knows why. It’s pretty funny. ;))
Anyway, we are absolutely thrilled to have nine full days off. We’re normally excited about Spring Break, but not this excited. Our Winter Break was cut short due to Hurricane Sandy (we had to make up for the time we’d lost), so this hiatus from school is much-needed. (Oh. By the way. I finally got my hair highlighted. Ultimate laziness/frugality defeated. So you won’t be seeing the streaks of dark anymore ;))
Things I’m looking forward to: Hanging out in Mitch’s parents’ kitchen, drinking coffee and chatting about life. :) Talking hair and dresses with Lisa. Looking at house plans. Talking Nikon with John. Going to the lake house. The bridal shower Mitch’s adorable, amazingly loving aunts are throwing us. Visiting the University of Illinois, where Mitch graduated from in 2007. Seeing Charlie and Amy. Hugging Parker and Cameron. Discussing girly things with Sarah. Giving John a “thumb hug.” Visits with Grandma Smith and Grandpa Larkin. Visiting the farm. CHICAGO with Dan and Laura. Seeing Mitch’s extended family. (Melissa Jo and Baby Boy?!) There’s a lot more, but I’ll stop. As you can tell, I’m excited. :)
