More ruffled sweaters and tops below!) / Black Jeans (And really thinking about purchasing these, since I’m such a fan of the lighter version! Have we noticed I wear them nearly every day? Haha!) / Burberry Jacket (Love this one, this one and this one, too!) / Leopard Pumps (Similar here, here and here) / Monica Vinader Bracelet / Kendra Scott Bracelet / Similar Sunglasses

For days that I just can’t string a cohesive storyline together, I’m thinkin’ bullet points are the answer. ;)

So here’s what’s goin’ on in my head today:

  • GO CUBS GO. I’ll admit that I’m not much of a baseball fan. And yes: my family grew up rooting for the Yankees. But it’s hard not to get behind the excitement of the Cubs going to the World Series! Mitch is SUCH a fan, and our whole neighborhood is going crazy right now as we’re pretty close to Wrigley Field. I’m currently on the hunt for cute bear cub costumes for our little family for our annual Halloween party we’re hosting this weekend!
  • I tried going to the coffee shop to get some work done yesterday but I failed. I just sat there, drinking my pumpkin coffee (#basic), thinking about Emma. (And shivering in the cold. Why are all the coffee shops in my neighborhood freezing? It’s almost November, people. Turn off the air conditioning.) Okay: I did get some work done. But today, I’m not even going to try, haha. I’m going to soak up my last day with my mom, and we’re going to cruise around town with our little Boo Bear. (Boo Cub?) And then I’m going to freak out at the end of the day and pull an all-nighter. Totes finding a work/life balance soon…
  • I can’t get enough of flowy, ruffly sweaters and tops this year. Yes, they help me hide the post-pregnancy pooch. But they’re incredibly flattering, comfy and feminine on their own, too. I’ve linked to a few of my favorites from Nordstrom–my absolute favorite retailer for “preppy meets trendy” styles–above. Nordstrom has it all when it comes to fall and winter clothing this year. As I’ve said before, the company offers free shipping and returns, and the best-ever customer service… so the ordering/returning process is always incredibly easy. The inventory selection is also carefully curated. Shopping at Nordstrom is kind of like having a personal shopper!
  • While Mitch and I absolutely love parenthood, we’re still adjusting to our new lives and the craziness that comes along with them. (Parenthood is the most wonderful thing in the world, in our opinion, but really: when will it not take us 15 minutes to get out the front door? Haha!) That said, we’re also trying to hit pause every once in a while and do things one would think we wouldn’t have time for. Last night, I grabbed drinks with a blog reader who recently moved to Chicago from the East Coast. It was only for an hour, but it was so much fun. It brought me back, that’s for sure! Thank you to all the kind souls that helped me with my own transition to Chicago. For chatting with me, getting to know me, and assuring me that soon, I’d be head-over-heels in love with the Windy City–even though I was homesick at the time. I’ll always be grateful for your thoughtfulness.
  • Can we all just give it up for my mother for a moment here? (Omg. I initially said “give up.” HORRIBLE typo. Sorry, Mom! Haha!) She’s responsible for today’s photos, which we took on our morning walk with Emma yesterday. I’m so impressed! Fashion blogging is a weird thing when you think about it, and I’m grateful that both my parents are so supportive of this little hobby-turned-job(ish) thing I do. And that they’re both great behind the lens and crazy willing/excited to snap pics for me whenever we’re out and about together. I’m one lucky blogger-daughter. ;)
  • We hired a cleaning service! I’m so excited. I realize that this decision might make me seem a little prissy, but last week, I freaked. I realized that working, being a mom and maintaining the house all at the same time wasn’t working out, and something had to give. So in comes the cleaning service next week! They’re only cleaning twice per month, but I’m already feeling less stressed.
  • Have you noticed that you can now shop my Instagrams? I’m so excited about it, because I think it makes the site a bit easier to navigate! You can shop ’em on the top right-hand sidebar, or under “Currently Wearing” on the main menu.
  • I miss my dad. Counting down the days until Thanksgiving. <3
