On Friday, Mitch and I headed down to South’s Bar and Restaurant–one of our favorite establishments in New York City–to celebrate our birthdays. After an incredibly hectic week, it was just what we needed. We kicked back, relaxed, and reminisced about how wonderful and exciting the year had been, from moving and getting married to happy times spent with family and friends. (Can’t wait to find out what this year will bring!)

After South’s, we walked over to Ivy’s Bistro, and had a great dinner. (Really can’t recommend the restaurant enough. Such a fan.) We ferried back to Hoboken at the end of the night just to take in the beautiful views of Manhattan, and hit up a few other places on the walk home. ;) (What?! We were celebrating!) Besides my Little Mermaid-themed party I had as a child, this was, by far, the best birthday of my life. Love you, Mitch. (P.S. — How cute is this?! In addition to dachshund material from Anthropologie that I plan on somehow turning into an article of clothing, the hubby got me tickets to the top of the Empire State Building, as I’ve never been before. Which is ridiculous, considering I’ve lived here for seven years! So sweet!)

And let’s just take a moment to talk about the adorableness of my skirt, from my favorite Etsy seller, Preppy Pink Shop. I met Justice, the owner of the shop (and the sweetest and most talented girl you’ll ever meet), last week over coffee in Hoboken. I’m in love with her ultra-preppy and super flattering skirts, many of which feature hard-to-find Lilly Pulitzer prints. (I’d been obsessed with finding a skirt or dress in the “Tusk in Sun” print for what seemed like forever. You can imagine how excited I was when I found Justice’s shop!) Seriously, though. Make sure to check out her storefront! And check out my favorites below. ;)
