Camel Sweater Dress (Also LOVE this one!) / $38 Peacoat (Have you seen the Kate Spade bow version?! This camel coat is on my wish list, and this one’s a classic.)  / Over-the-Knee Boots (This waterproof pair, which is much more affordable, is amazing. See more waterproof Blondo boots here. And an A+ for this pair, which all my cousins have and swear by.) / Striped Turtleneck (Love this one, this one and this one as well.) / $48 Tote (So soft and holds a ton! Love this leather tote and the bow version, too.)

Without a doubt, this is my favorite outfit I wore while in New York. (Okay. Maybe it was a tie between this and the plaid cape. More on that one soon!) I felt like a million bucks in it, yet was cozy, warm and comfortable the entire day.

We snapped these photos right outside of Union Square, which will always be a special place for us. (It’s where Mitch asked me out on our first date, and it was our subway stop for many years when we lived in the East Village.) Don’t worry, though: Broadway is a one-way avenue, and there’s weirdly just not a lot of traffic between 17th and 19th streets because Union Square West (which it feeds into) is slow and often blocked off. That, coupled with the fact that there’s a long light, makes it our favorite place to snap quick street photos!

Anyway, a few notes about this look:

The dress

I can’t get enough. Sadly, the dress is going quickly, and I’m not sure whether it’ll be restocked. But I LOVE this camel one, which is very similar. (Adore those little ties around the arms!) I’m wearing a small in these photos, and I’d order a small in this one, too.

The boots

I’m not a fan of cold legs in the fall or winter, so I’m incredibly grateful that over-the-knee boots are “in.” I wear mine constantly, and couldn’t recommend them more as they don’t fall down, they’re great for narrow calves, and there’s zero break-in time. (They run completely TTS, btw.) That said, they’re pricey, and I’ll admit that I wouldn’t own them if I didn’t have this site. Looking for something more affordable? My cousins all have this pair and swear by them! I also love Blondo, which makes waterproof over-the-knee boots. This pair is the BEST!

The turtleneck

I get so much wear out of my striped turtleneck. It’s a wonderfully versatile layering piece, and every closet needs one for fall. I’m wearing a small here, but I have an XS which I wear under tighter articles of clothing. (Note: It would seem that the black and white striped one is sold out, but here are other options: one / two / three.)

The peacoat

I recently talked about the magic of this shockingly affordable peacoat in this Central Park post. It’s very warm considering how lightweight it is–it was 45 degrees when we took these pics–and the quality is amazing for the price. How cute is the red one, too?! For fit purposes, I’m wearing a small here. (Side note: other camel coats I’m loving include this classic, this wool trench coat, and this bow-backed peacoat.)

The tote

How is this thing only $48?! It was backordered for a while, but it’s suddenly in stock again, so swoop it up while you can. It’s faux leather, but it’s insanely soft and holds a ton. Oh, and it’s reversible! I get stopped while carrying at least once per day; believe me: you need it. ;) This is the real leather Madewell one, btw, and #omg the bows.

Of course, everything came from Nordstrom, which you guys know is my favorite retailer. The customer service is unparalleled and shipping and returns are free, so you really can’t go wrong. And if you’re in Chicago, the store is conveniently located on Michigan Avenue. And for the New Yorkers, you’re getting one so soon! ;)

Over and out, Friends! Hope you have a wonderful week!
