Ah! We had the best time while home. We only did half of what we wanted to do–isn’t that how it always works?–but introducing Emma to family and friends was so special. While we didn’t get to see everyone, we’re thankful that we’re headed back to the East Coast in three short weeks for Christmas. And we have a ton to look forward to back in Chicago: picking out and trimming our first Christmas tree as a family of three, attending Zoolights, finding the holiday train, visiting the Chrsitkindlmarket, hanging the homemade stockings that Mom and Grammie made us, and sitting on Santa’s lap on Michigan Avenue. (Well, Emma will be doing that. But Mitch: maybe? Haha!)
These photos were taken yesterday, in between naps. Not sure whether I’ve talked about this on the blog yet, but Emma’s nap game has been STRONG these last couple of weeks. Girlfriend will wake up sometime between 8 and 9:30, and she’ll go back down for a nap around 11 or 11:30, only go to back down around 4 or 5. While she’s so, so much happier now that she’s on a nap schedule, our “awake time” with her is now a bit limited, so we need to take full advantage while she’s up. We spent yesterday’s time exploring my parents’ town, since it was pretty warm for November 25th. And we had so much fun! Emma adores being outside, and we love watching her in her element. :)

Anyway, we’re spending our last night on the East Coast with my brothers, and we’re catching up over wine by the fire. Sounds ridiculous, but that is what’s happening, haha. Patrick doesn’t have a shift at the emergency room tonight and Danny doesn’t have class tomorrow! Rarely are the Sheehan kids all together, and so I’m feeling incredibly lucky tonight.
