I mentioned this last week, but my family came to visit this past weekend! My parents, Grammie and cousin flew in on Friday, and on Sunday, Mitch’s family joined us for Emma’s baptism. I’ll share photos from that soon, but in the meantime, I thought I’d share a few point-and-shoot pics (this camera!) from Saturday.

I’ll always love my hulking DSLR, but it just doesn’t make sense to bring it with me everywhere. Of course, I’m out of practice with my mirrorless camera, and need to spend some more time with it. But it’s a powerful little thing. My favorite feature? As you change the manual settings, the display screen shows you–in real time–what the photo will look like. Pretty awesome! Second favorite feature? It’s super light, and I can just throw it in my diaper bag. I take so many more personal pics as a result!

Anyway, temps were in the 40s on Saturday, so we walked to The Willow Room on Halsted for lunch, where the above photos were taken. (Side note: the outfit pics were taken with my DSLR; the others were taken with the Sony.) After that, we grabbed coffees and toured Villa D’Citta, the bed and breakfast where my parents and Grammie stayed. (SO beautiful! I was honestly in shock as to how gorgeous it was.) Later, we walked back to our house and watched the ND game, and then we had a Chinese feast while Emma napped. That night, Mitch, Sammy and I stayed up way too late just talking. (Love you, Sam! Hugs or gifts or acts of service? Ha!) It was such a great day, and I wish so badly we could repeat it tomorrow.

I’d love to share more about our family weekend, but my eyes are drooping as I write this, haha. So stay tuned for a post on Emma’s baptism. :) Why does it have to be Monday?!
