Oversized Scarf (Pretty sure I need the pink, too!) / Pocket Sweater (Also love this one and this one! And here’s the pocket sweater in black.) / Flats (Tan ones here, and how about the tortoise version?!) / Jeans (The “Capri” cut is my FAVORITE. I’m seriously obsessed with it. The jeans are incredibly soft and flattering… and they are a bit wider around the middle, allowing for maximum comfort. My everyday jeans are here, and my white jeans are here.) / Bracelet (Also love this version)
Guys! It’s been a while, hasn’t it? I took the weekend off from the blog, as our little family was making its way via Prius from Chicago to Bucks County, Pennsylvania (where my parents live) for Thanksgiving. I really thought the drive was going to be a disaster, as we had both a three-month-old baby and a neurotic miniature dachshund in tow. But it went so well. I sat in the back with Emma and Noodle, and we played with Sophie, watched Elmo, and sang along to Raffi. And with the exception of a couple of times, Emma was all smiles. I guess she was just super excited to see her grandparents and meet her uncles!
We stayed over in Toledo, Ohio… and we had a blast while there. Let me tell you: Toledians are ridiculously kind and friendly. If you’re ever there, be sure to check out Barry Bagels. I wanted to be best friends with everyone we had breakfast with there, haha.
And now we’re finally here in Bucks County. I can’t even tell you how incredible it was to watch my brothers and sister-in-law meet Emma for the first time. We walked into my parents’ house through the back door, like we always do, and almost immediately everyone surrounded us. Emma loved every second of it, and she couldn’t stop smiling and laughing at Patrick, Danny and Kim. I think Mitch actually took some video of it, so I’ll try to get that up on the blog soon. It goes without saying that my heart melted!
Things out East have been awesome. We’ve been so busy! So far, we’ve had three “Meet Emma” parties: one with our college and NYC pals (photos to come tomorrow), another with Grammie and Aunt Margie, and another with our old neighbors from Princeton Junction. How does Emma have so many people who love her so much? And how did we get to be so lucky?
These photos were snapped yesterday when Mitch and I slipped away to take a walk with our Emma. I’m a City Girl through-and-through, but I love escaping to Bucks County every once in a while–especially during the fall. I wore my new favorite scarf, which is perfectly oversized and goes with nearly everything, and Emma bundled up in her coziest outerwear and my childhood blanket.
Back to that scarf, though. I’ll admit that I’ve really been upping my “scarf game” this year. (Did you catch Friday’s post?) But trust me: you need this one. It’s SO soft, beyond cozy, and reasonably priced. I love it so much that I ordered the same one in pink the other day. (And not even feeling guilty about it. I’m a Chicagoan, after all. I need quality–and cute–winter gear!) I got it from Nordstrom, which undoubtedly has the best selection of fall and winter accessories. I’ve said this a million times, but the retailer’s products are so carefully curated, and the company offers free shipping and returns. Nothing to lose!
Anyway, Mitch and I are off to spend a couple of days in Manhattan. Be sure to follow along on Instagram and Facebook, and check out my favorite scarves from Nordstrom’s fall and winter accessories collection below!
