A few weeks ago, I wrote about how I’ve been setting aside time every day to work on some passion projects: leather-bound family albums as well as home videos. I’d said I wanted to tackle Emma’s “first year” album first, but once I’d laid everything out, I realized we still had a solid nine months until the end of year one. ;) So instead, I finally made our wedding album–something I’d been meaning to do for SO long.
July 20th will always be the happiest day of the year for me because it’s the day I married you. Today, I want you to know that I’m still just as crazy in love with you as I was when we were first pronounced husband and wife, and that I truly love you more and more with each passing day. You’re my best friend, my “trenches” partner, and my whole world. And I’m so incredibly grateful for you.
Over Memorial Day Weekend, I attended the wedding of my childhood best friend, Katie. It was the best weekend, filled with an incredible amount of love and fun and joy. And I can’t even tell you how much of an honor it was to be a bridesmaid. :)
Okay. I know I’m probably ridiculously full of hormones right now, but my heart is full. :) Yesterday, I went wedding dress shopping at Alice in Ivory and Glamour Closet with Jess, Blair and Shaheen, and it was so much fun. (Oh my goodness. I think things were so crazy during my travels on the East Coast that I think I neglected to share that JESS AND NEAL ARE ENGAGED! Cutest story ever. So happy for you guys! Love you both so much.)
I kind of knew I’d get emotional upon seeing Jess in a wedding gown, but holy tears. And sigh: we found some incredible dresses… one or two of which might be the dress. (I can’t show you actual photos of Jess in the dresses, because I obviously don’t want to ruin the surprise. But there are some great photos from our day at the bottom of this post!) Afterward, we celebrated at Summer House, and I ordered us ALL the food. Everyone got stomach aches except me, haha. (#ChampionEater) Sorrrrrry, guys. ;)
[dropcap]Y[/dropcap]esterday, while I was trying to figure out exactly how many days were left until summer (#truth), I realized I never shared photos from my brother’s wedding, which took place this past June in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. It was one of the most magical days of my life, as I’d never seen my brother happier, the Sheehans gained a new (fabulous) member that day, it was my first family wedding besides my own (oldest on both sides!), and there was so much love present. Oh, and it was summer. And everything is magical in the summer. :)
Last Saturday, Mitch and I headed to Point Peasant, New Jersey, for the wedding of one of my best friends from high school. It was a magical day–ridiculously warm for the last weekend in November, and flawlessly misty; a scene from Van Morrison’s “Into the Mystic” music video that exists only in my head. ;)
June 6th, 2013 was a very special day for a lot of people. My brother, Patrick, married the love of his life, and the Sheehan family gained the best daughter and sister-in-law we could ever hope for. :)
