Mitch & Family Visit Chicago’s Shedd Aquarium

Mitch here!

If you read this post, you know that I’m trying my hand at blogging to help out. This is both fun and hilarious for me, as A) I’ve always enjoyed writing, and B) I really never thought I’d be writing for a site that focuses on women’s fashion. But, you know. You take what life throws you!

(Anyone interested in hearing me explain the difference between a dress and a skirt?)

But let’s get back to it before I lose my job.

I have a few confessions to make:

CornerStone Cafe

This is a pre-scheduled post. I’m on vacation!

Hunter Boots (Also available here, and in the gloss version here) and Socks (Has anyone tried these or these yet? If so, please share whether they’re as magical as I assume they are!) / Ralph Lauren Sweater c/o — Found at Marshalls! $145 marked down to $22. True story. / Barbour Rain Coat c/o (Similar here, here and here) / Hudson Jeans (Also love this pair and this pair. <– dream jeans!) / Newer Version of Emma’s Rain Coat (Also love this one and this one!) / UppaBaby Stroller and Car Seat c/o

Mitch and I recently took Emma to CornerStone Cafe’s new location on Clybourn and Webster in Lincoln Park for brunch. The weather was CRAZY: warm enough to only wear our rain coats, yet super windy. So windy that at one point, Emma’s bottle flew out of her mouth and rolled into the street. And then a car ran it over.

Bridge House Tavern

This is a pre-scheduled post. I’m on vacation!

Dolce Vita Boots c/o (LOVE them. And they’re on sale! Such a great alternative to the Stuart Weitzmans, which also come in navy, as I’m not nervous to wear them. They also come in a heeled version.) / Rag & Bone Jeans (They’re the best–super stretchy yet don’t bag or stretch out–but I had to have them hemmed. Also love these.) / Bobeau Cable-Knit Sweater (Also love this one and this one, which I wore here.) / UppaBaby Stroller and Car Seat c/o

These photos were taken at (and across from) Bridge House Tavern in downtown Chicago this past fall. It was another favorite day, and I can’t believe I’m just getting around to sharing the photos now. Mitch and I stumbled upon the restaurant while walking around with Emma one night, and the food, service and atmosphere were absolutely amazing. Go when it’s warm; it’s one of the first things we’re doing once spring arrives!

Birthday Weekend Revisited

This is a pre-scheduled post. I’m on vacation!

Barbour Beadnell c/o (This one’s on sale! My favorite quilted version here. Barbour also available at Tuckernuck.) / Hudson Jeans (Clearly before I had them hemmed. #Shorty — Also love these.) / BB Dakota Sweater (Love this newer one and this one, too!) / Joie Booties c/o (And these are the ones I wear on the reg. Shearling-lined here. Select “Black Slick.”) / Kendra Scott Necklace c/o

I’ve been meaning to post photos from our birthday weekend in October for the longest time, so here they finally are. :) It was the perfect little celebration: we took Emma to the Lincoln Park Zoo, had wine atop the J.Parker (couldn’t recommend it more during the warmer seasons), and dinner at Summer House (favorite restaurant in Lincoln Park).

A Few Thoughts

Lilly Pulitzer Pants (these are my new obsession, and lots of prints are currently part of the After Party Sale!), Off-the-Shoulder Top (Part of the sale in white and pink!) and Baby Shift (Shop the little girls’ sale section here. Last day!) / Jack Rogers Sandals c/o (Exact style here, here, here and here.) / Vineyard Vines Clutch c/o (Super similar here, on sale!)

Update:

The top that I’m wearing in this post was just added to the sale (in white and pink)! :) My pants are also included (in different prints).

New Styles Added!

How did everyone make out at the Lilly Pulitzer After Party Sale?! I know that shoppers were a bit frustrated with the tech troubles yesterday, but it seems like everyone was eventually able to get onto the site and shop… which was the end goal, right?! :) And I love that there’s still a ton of amazing merchandise available. Two other sites that are also offering big savings on Lilly right now are Zappos and its little sister, 6pm.com. I was really impressed with their competitive pricing as well as their selection!

In case you’re wondering, I picked up this silk top, these pants (THE BEST — wearing them in today’s post), this no-iron Elsa, and this lace top for my upcoming trips to Charleston (late February) and L.A. (April). I almost bought this navy blue dress, but I find myself wearing dresses less and less as a new mom, so decided against it in the end. Did you guys score anything you’re excited about?! At various points today, I’ll be checking in and updating this post with any important information about the last day of the sale. You can also follow along on my Facebook page!

But back to real life, bullet point-style. :)

LIVE FEED: Lilly Pulitzer After Party Sale

The Lilly Pulitzer After Party Sale starts today at 8 a.m. ET! Are you ready?!

Even more styles added!

Year in Review

This was when I was so nervous about Baby Larkin that I wouldn’t highlight my hair. Yikes. ;) (Read my Guide to Buying Hunter Boots!)

Oy. Another late post. 2017 is off to a rocky start, haha.

Anyway:

One of the reasons I love blogging so much is that it almost serves as a little diary. When looking back on 2016, it’s easy for me to sum up my year in a sentence or two: “2016 was great! Emma was born!”

But when I scrolled through my posts (which, yes, took a while), I was amazed by just how much occurred. So I thought I’d take myself on a trip down Memory Lane today. WARNING: This post is crazy long, and if you somehow make it to the bottom, you deserve a gold star. ;)

But here’s my year in review!
