Burberry Snood (It’s marketed for little girls, but it totally works for women and it’s a fraction of the cost of the original Burberry scarf. And did you see my recent post featuring the Burberry boots?) / BP. Sweater (And ADORE this super soft BP. sweater!) / Sorel Boots (I also have these, which also come in navy, and love them! And here are the Burberry boots I recently featured, similar here.) / Canada Goose Jacket / Rag & Bone Jeans (And love the “Capri” cut in the lighter wash and black wash.) / Similar Mittens

For like first time ever, haha, I’m upholding a promise… and actually reviewing the Burberry snood!

So let’s get right to it:

It’s awesome. I love the original, classic “Heritage” scarf, but let’s face it: it’s a bit pricey. The snood, on the other hand, is such a deal comparatively. Yes, it’s marketed for little girls, but it 100-percent works for women, too… and not just tiny women. I found that the neck hole was plenty big enough. So big, in fact, that I wondered how it would work for a little girl!

I feel like I don’t even need to say this, but I found my snood at Nordstrom. (Also, anyone else immediately think about this game from college upon hearing the word “snood”? So many wasted hours…) Nordstrom is my go-to for gifts this year, on account of the amazing inventory as well as the incredible customer service and shipping + return policy. (It’s free!) I also love how many awesome gift guides Nordstrom has. Some of my favorite gifts from Nordstrom include this initial necklace which I wear all the time (and recently bought for a mystery family member), this cozy scarf, these Hunters, my favorite cozy socksthis sweater in pink, my favorite pocket sweaterthis tote bag in black/cognac, these loafers which I SWEAR look just like Gucci loafers, this Patagoniathe sweater I’m wearing in this post along with this sweater in red and this sweater in tanthis scarf and this scarf, this black bell-sleeved tunic, this “cold shoulder” sweater, these Sam Edelman leopard flats, this sparkly sweaterthis poncho, these Nikes which are perfect for traveling, and these Coach boots.

But back to life:

First of all, a HUGE congratulations to two of our best friends, Dan and Laura, who recently got engaged in Hawaii! Guys, we love you, and we’re so, so happy for you. I was having a really rough day when we heard the news–you know; one of those days during which you feel crazy overwhelmed and like everyone you love is mad at you–and the engagement brought me to tears, and reminded me that there is nothing more important than family, friends and love. Again, so happy for you! And Laura: what’s, like, the exact date you’re thinking of? Hehe… kidding. ;)

On a completely unrelated note, we’re either leaving for the East Coast on Friday or Saturday, depending on snow storms. I’m really excited, but I still have a few work-related and Christmas projects to finish up, and so I’m feeling the pressure. Today, I’m “on deadline” for one written project and one photo shoot, and they’re due a couple of hours before Mitch arrives home. Send productive and happy baby vibes my way!

I know, I know. I said I wasn’t going to talk about the weather. BUT THINGS ARE CRAZY HERE. And somehow, Chicago Public Schools are open, despite the absurdly low temperatures. With wind chill, we’re expected to get to something like -20 degrees today, and on Sunday, the low is an actual -15 degrees. Life is kind of fun when we experience ridiculous weather, as Chicagoans tend to come together and bond over the cold in restaurants and bars. But since you’re already sending productivity and happy baby vibes, would you mind sending warm thoughts, too? ;)
