Burberry Boots (Newer version here. Also love these and these. And have you seen this scarf?! It’s marketed for little girls, but it 100-percent works for women, too. A Burberry scarf for half the price! Such a great gift.) / Rag & Bone Jeans (As you know, I love the “Capri” cut. Right now, it’s available in black and regular.) / Cable-Knit Sweater (So soft! And love this somewhat similar pocket sweater, which I have in white! Similar cable-knits here, here and here. Finally, I recently picked up this sweater in red, and this sweater in tan. I love how the first one hangs and I ADORE the crazy softness–and machine washability–of the second.) / Free People Scarf (And #OMGThis one is cute, too! And this one!) / Canada Goose Jacket / Similar Mittens / Monica Vinader Bracelet c/o (More affordable here)

I know I promised a double post yesterday, but things got crazy all too quickly, and I abandoned “blog ship” for shopping and sushi with Mitch and Emma. ;) Clearly the better choice, right?!

But here it is. And just a few things before I get to the style part:

WHAT IS GOING ON IN CHICAGO? Last December was crazy warm. So much so that I often went without a jacket. And now we’re facing excessively low temps for the next week, and it’s a little scary with an infant! Needless to say, Emma and I are staying inside–like, completely–for a long time, as I don’t want to take any risks. Did you see this article? Oy.

Anywho, I finished up most of my holiday shopping yesterday, and I feel like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders. Do you guys have very much left? This year, I’ve been all about the joint gifts: Teaming up with siblings and other family members and getting “larger” presents, because A) I find it a bit easier to find awesome presents with a bigger budget and B) I’m able to help others who are struggling with finding the perfect gifts. I definitely enjoy shopping, haha, and let’s face it: my brothers and dad don’t love it as much as I do!

So let’s focus on gifts for the women in your life. My #1 gift right now is Burberry “steals.” While most Burberry is pretty expensive, there are a few products out there that give you a lot more bang for your buck if you’re teaming up with others. One of ’em is this scarf, which is actually marketed for little girls, but totally works for women! (I’ll be wearing it in a blog post later this week, but trust me: it looks awesome and is plenty roomy!) I love wearing it with two buttons unbuttoned at the bottom. (And this is the classic Burberry scarf, which I wore here and here, in case you’re teaming up with a TON of people, haha.) Another steal is this pair of boots, which features a whole lot of Burberry print for the money. :) (Here’s the newer version.) They’re super comfy and I think they really dress up cold-weather outfits–something that Chicagoans can definitely appreciate. (Anyone else already sick of seeing my jacket? Ugh.)

Nordstrom is where I’m buying the majority of my gift this year, as shopping there is SO nice. I really love shopping at the downtown location, but with Emma, I’ve been doing most of my shopping online this year and it’s been beyond easy. (I’ve actually been shipping everything directly to my parents’ and in-laws’ houses so we don’t have to worry about wrapping–and subsequently damaging–everything in the tiny Prius!) I also love how many awesome gift guides Nordstrom has. Every year, I pretend that I’m going to get on top of my game and make like a zillion gift guides… but then the holidays start creepin’ up on me and I’m all like, “AH! I don’t even have my own shopping done! Forget this!” What? It’s true… ;) But in all seriousness, thank you, Nordstrom, for doing the work for us! (And for having fast and free shipping as well as the best customer service ever.)

Before I go, though, a few other gifts I’m considering for the special women in my life: this initial necklace which I wear all the time, this cozy scarf, these Hunters, my favorite cozy socksthis sweater in pink, my favorite pocket sweaterthis tote bag in black/cognac, these loafers which I SWEAR look just like Gucci loafers, this Patagoniathe sweater I’m wearing in this post along with this sweater in red and this sweater in tanthis scarf and this scarf, this black bell-sleeved tunic, this “cold shoulder” sweater, these Sam Edelman leopard flats, this sparkly sweaterthis poncho, these Nikes which are perfect for traveling, and these Coach boots. Phew!

Switching gears, isn’t my in-laws’ place gorgeous? I wish I’d photographed the inside of it, as my mother-in-law decorated it so well for the holidays. But I tell you: the woman is a decorating genius. She can take any catalogue or magazine and replicate the looks for a fraction of the cost… or with whatever she owns already. When I grow up, I want to be her. :)

Okay! I somehow have to get from my house to the nearest coffee shop–which is three blocks away–today. Please pray for me!
